Vol. 54\n\n\n
\n | \n Hello there! \nAs I write this at 9am its actually getting darker out rather than lighter! 🙃 \nI don't know about you but I always work better on bright sunny days, but hopefully today can still be productive, I do have a lil to do list in mind. \nToday might actually be the day I finish up the first new lighthouse of the year! I feel like its been a bit since I really added a new lighthouse to the lighthouse collection. \nI think the last one was either the Mount Dora Lighthouse (Florida) or the Cape May Lighthouse (New Jersey). \nThe one I have been working on this week is a Florida one, any guesses? \nIts on the Gulf of Mexico side! 🙂 \nThis year might just be the year where I finally do some West Coast Lighthouses though, and I'm actually really excited about that! Already started the research 😁. \nOn Monday, it was the usual package drop off day, and I took a lil beach stop, which was much needed. It wasn't lovely out, in fact it was quite cold. But it was so so nice to just be on the beach, and look for things. \nWithin the first 5 minutes I actually found 2 shark teeth which was a nice surprise. \nSo take this as a reminder, if you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, mad, angry, anxious and all of the other feelings, take a few moments and go outside. \nI feel like life has been overwhelming for a lot of us, and if you specifically have a passion for the ocean, nature, and just care about basic human rights, oh and like just existing on this lovely planet.... Its been extremely rough lately. \nA few major things that I feel like have been top of mind for me this week are; NOAA and the fact that now in addition to the firings, leases for extremely important building are set to be cut. Logging, need I say more? National Parks building leases being cut. \nAll of these things are big blows to our environment, which therefore are a big blow to us. \nI saw a meme the other day, wish I had saved it, but it was something like.... \nthem: why do you care about the environment so much? \nme: because I live there. \nSounds about right, right? \n✨Tid-bits✨\n🐻Florida Residents, please take a moment to read up on the potential \"Bear Hunt\" and voice your informed opinion on the topic. Here is a link to the in Info by Max Chesnes at the Tampa Bay Times, and here is the email to vocalize your opinions on the topic, BearComments@MyFWC.com . \n“We have 23 million people in Florida and 4,000 bears. So we know where the population problem is: It’s the humans,” said Katrina Shadix, executive director of @bearwarriorsunited. ✨My Favorite Cookie at the Moment - Consider it a hug in the form of a cookie! Makes 2, so the perfect fresh cookie recipe, with minimal ingredients. \n🌊Still reading the Blue Wonder book super slowly but I can't recommend it enough. Bookshop.org , or Amazon If you enjoy the ocean, and want to learn more but in an easy way, this book is so good! I know I've mentioned it before, but its just so good, and helps you truly understand the importance of a healthy ocean. \nWell my friend, that is it for today, hope you are staying safe and having a nice Wednesday! \n | \n\n |
